Dover Saddlery is a retail business offering equestrian products geared towards riders and horses.  The company was founded in 1975 by the powers brothers, Jim and David.  The brothers were riders in the Olympic events, and after returning they had the idea of opening up a business that would provide riders and their horses with quality products.  Jim Powers believed that the riders of New England would be pleased with such as idea.

The first retail location started in Wellesley, Massachusetts.  But they soon expanded and moved to Littleton, Massachusetts.  Their mail order business expanded and the continued to grow from there. The business gained a loyal following and their customers are highly appreciative of the offerings in the catalogs, online and in stores.

Dover Saddlery maintains a high commitment to its customers and employees.  They are aware of the fact that in order to continue to profit a mutual and respectful relationship among all parts of the business is necessary.

Majority, if not all, employees receive extensive training and are riders themselves.
